My Fair Lady
If you love musicals you will love My Fair Lady. In fact you probably already know the story. It follows Eliza Doolittle. Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison) tells a friend that he can teach anyone to speak properly. In fact he says that he can pass the woman off as a Duchess. His friend has the perfect woman for him.
Eliza sells flowers in a bad part of London. She comes to Higgins for speech lessons. She eventually begins to speak like a proper lady. Once she has gained her confidence she realizes she has a few tough decisions to make.
Julie Andrews had starred in the stage production but the role went to Audrey instead. But Julie was not too upset. Later that year Julie won an Oscar for Mary Poppins. Audrey was not even nominated.
